Feminism: Everything You Thought Was Empowering… Was Actually a Lie

Feminism vs. Biblical Womanhood bold faith real truth no apologies

Unmasking the movement that promised freedom but delivered confusion, division, and a departure from biblical truth

A Red Lipstick, a Power Suit, and a Lie

Picture this: It’s the 90s. Shoulder pads are high, your mom’s lipstick is higher, and little girls are being told they can “have it all.” Sounds empowering, right? Well, buckle up, buttercup, because what if I told you that the very movement that marched us toward “freedom” actually handcuffed us to something far more destructive?

Let’s be clear: feminism didn’t begin with bra-burning or pink hats. Its roots go way deeper and twistier than your average Women’s Studies textbook will ever admit. And here’s the kicker—what began as a movement for basic rights morphed into a cultural wrecking ball, tearing down the very institutions that once protected, cherished, and uplifted women.

Today, we’re unpacking the real history of feminism. Spoiler alert: it’s not the girlboss fairy tale you’ve been sold. We’re talking about where it went off the rails, how it betrays biblical womanhood, and why even secular experts are starting to admit… feminism might have been a bad deal.

The Original Feminism: A Legitimate Beginning

Let’s give credit where it’s due. The first wave of feminism in the late 19th and early 20th century had noble goals: property rights, access to education, voting. These women—many of whom were Christian abolitionists like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Sojourner Truth—fought for fairness under the law, not dominance over men.

But by the second wave (1960s-80s), the movement had shifted from equal rights to an all-out cultural revolution. Influenced by Marxist ideology and radical gender theory, feminism was no longer about equality—it became about dismantling the family, demonizing men, and making women believe that motherhood was oppression and promiscuity was empowerment.

Don’t take my word for it. Even feminist theorist Simone de Beauvoir once said, “No woman should be authorized to stay at home to raise her children… women should not have that choice, precisely because if there is such a choice, too many women will make that one.”
Ah yes, nothing screams empowerment like stripping away free will.

Feminism’s Downward Spiral: The Data Doesn’t Lie

Let’s talk receipts, shall we?

📉 Marriage Rates: According to Pew Research, marriage rates have declined by nearly 60% since the 1960s. Why? Feminism convinced women they didn’t need men. But guess what? The Institute for Family Studies shows that married women report significantly higher life satisfaction and mental well-being than their single peers.

👩‍👧‍👦 Single Motherhood: The U.S. Census Bureau reports that over 1 in 4 children in America are raised without a father in the home. That number skyrocketed after the sexual revolution and feminist push for “independence.” And what does that mean for kids? Increased rates of depression, incarceration, and poverty. That’s not girl power—that’s generational destruction.

🧠 Mental Health: A 2021 study from the Journal of Behavioral Health Services & Research found that women who prioritize career over family report higher levels of anxiety and burnout. Meanwhile, those who embrace faith, family, and traditional values report stronger mental health and relational satisfaction.

Feminism promised self-fulfillment. It delivered chronic loneliness and antidepressants.

Feminism vs. Biblical Womanhood: Oil and Water

Let’s get theological for a second.

Feminism says: “You are your own authority.”
God says: “You are not your own; you were bought with a price.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

Feminism says: “Children and husbands hold you back.”
God says: “Children are a heritage from the Lord” (Psalm 127:3) and “a wife of noble character is her husband’s crown.” (Proverbs 12:4)

Feminism says: “Submission is slavery.”
God says: “Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.” (Colossians 3:18)—a mutual, loving partnership, not a dictatorship.

Truth bomb: Biblical womanhood isn’t weak or mindless. It’s powerful, dignified, and rooted in purpose far deeper than what feminism could ever offer.

The Radical Left’s Fantasy: Why the Right Calls It Out

Conservatives aren’t against women—we’re against bad ideas. And feminism, as it currently stands, is a bad idea with excellent PR. It hijacked righteous causes, rebranded rebellion as righteousness, and gave us a culture where confused women shout into TikTok about their cat’s pronouns instead of building lives rooted in truth and family.

Modern feminism is a caricature of itself. It’s not about elevating women—it’s about erasing gender distinctions, mocking masculinity, and labeling femininity as “internalized oppression.”

The Right sees it clearly: when men are weakened and women are hardened, nobody wins.

What You Can Do: Redeem, Restore, Rebuild

1. Unlearn the Lies

Start by detoxing from cultural propaganda. Read counter-cultural thinkers like Dr. Jordan Peterson, Mary Eberstadt, or Abigail Shrier, who expose the fallout of modern feminist ideology.

2. Redefine Strength

True strength isn’t found in rejecting our design—it’s found in living it out boldly. Motherhood, marriage, faithfulness, modesty, and grace aren’t limitations. They’re superpowers.

3. Raise Countercultural Daughters

Teach the next generation that their worth isn’t in body count or boardroom titles—it’s in Christ. Show them Proverbs 31, not Cosmopolitan. Arm them with truth and confidence.

4. Be Loud About It

Don’t let culture shame you into silence. Post the truth. Speak it. Wear the T-shirt. Host the book club. Start the podcast. If they can parade delusion, we can proclaim truth.

Final Thought: Freedom Isn’t Found in Feminism—It’s Found in Faith

The feminist movement told us we were chained to men, families, and faith. But in reality, those were the very things keeping us grounded, joyful, and whole.

Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)

Not “your truth.” The truth.

And the truth is, biblical womanhood isn’t outdated. It’s undefeated.
