Floods, Feds, and Fictional Heroes: This Week In America

From real-life bravery in Texas to Hollywood’s latest moral lecture, this week pulled back the curtain on a country wrestling with chaos, coverups, and cultural collapse.

While America was reeling from real tragedies—literal life-and-death battles playing out in Texas—some folks decided it was the perfect time to play politics and rewrite fiction. And not in the entertaining kind of way.

Let’s start with the flood.

texas floods elsa kurt show Over 119 lives lost. At least 161 still missing. Entire counties in Central Texas—Kerr, Travis, Kendall, Burnett, Williamson, and Tom Green—were swallowed by flash floods so sudden, water levels turned deadly in under 35 minutes.

That kind of devastation leaves a scar… and a choice: to rise with courage or retreat into blame.

Real Heroes Don’t Wear Capes

Coast Guard rescue swimmer Scott Ruskan—26 years old, on his first mission—saved 165 people. That’s not a typo. One man, risking everything in pitch-dark water, did what our overpaid, agenda-driven elite never could: act selflessly for strangers.

He didn’t stop at pulling them from the current. He became the only medical responder on site, triaging and treating over 230 people.

That’s what real masculinity, real service, and real leadership look like.
And it echoes this truth:

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” —John 15:13

A Camp Washed Away

One of the worst-hit locations was Camp Mystic, a beloved summer camp with ties to the Bush family. Twenty-seven lives were lost there, including the camp director who died protecting the children under her care.

Parents deserve peace of mind when sending kids to summer camps, especially in disaster-prone areas. Facilities must have better emergency plans in place—not just wishful thinking and “it’ll never happen here” attitudes.

These were children. This was preventable.

Blame Trump, Ignore the Storm

As heroic rescues unfolded, the media and certain celebrities chose another path: blame.

Rosie O’Donnell—broadcasting from her Irish home—declared the floods were “Trump’s fault” because of budget decisions. The Guardian and MSNBC ran with similar spin, insisting NOAA cuts were to blame.

Meanwhile, not a single mainstream outlet blamed Biden during Hurricane Helene, which caused over 130 deaths. Funny how that works, right?

No headlines. No hot takes. No outrage. Selective outrage is the trademark of broken journalism. If you only hold leaders accountable based on the party letter next to their name, you’re not seeking truth. You’re selling narrative.

Speaking of Narratives… Where’s the Epstein List?

This week, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced there’s no Epstein client list. You read that right.

no list says bondiAfter years of swirling reports, quiet settlements, and one convicted trafficker behind bars (Ghislaine Maxwell), the DOJ now claims—nothing to see here, folks.

So who was she trafficking to, exactly? Ghosts?

Even Americans who don’t follow politics closely are scratching their heads. You don’t have to wear a tinfoil hat to feel like something’s rotten here.

As Proverbs 28:5 reminds us:

“Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it completely.”

And this—whatever “this” is—reeks of injustice.

Musk Launches a Party… and a Power Play

In another shake-up, Elon Musk announced the formation of the “America Party”—not to run for president, but to challenge Congressional seats and disrupt establishment politics.

Unlike most third-party attempts, Musk isn’t just making noise. He’s got the cash, the clout, and the audience to actually move the needle.the American party is born

Is it a legitimate alternative for disillusioned conservatives? Or a spoiler that fractures the right? Time will tell.

One thing’s for sure: he’s not wrong that both parties have lost the plot.

Hollywood Rewrites Superman… Again

While real Americans are saving lives and losing children, Hollywood is busy rewriting superheroes.

Director James Gunn announced his new Superman isn’t fighting for “truth, justice, and the American way” anymore… now he’s “an immigrant from somewhere else” here to teach us about kindness and inclusion.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but:
Superman didn’t sneak into Metropolis and demand asylum with laser eyes.

woke superman flopsHe was raised by Kansas farmers. He assimilated, honored law and morality, and fought for good—even when it was unpopular.

This isn’t just about a movie. It’s about the stories a nation tells itself… and what we’re teaching the next generation to value.

If we can’t even agree that Superman should stand for America, maybe the rot runs deeper than we thought.

What Now?

In a single week, we’ve seen real courage, real heartbreak, and real deception. From Texas floods to DOJ cover-ups and woke Hollywood sermons, the pattern is clear:

They want to control the narrative… but we don’t have to buy the script.

“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist…” —Ephesians 6:14

I’ll take real heroes over manufactured ones.
Truth over spin.
And God’s justice over the world’s corruption every single time.
