This isn’t a prank—it’s attempted murder.
The Deadly Reality of Swatting
The swatting of Conservatives is being ignored by many and mocked by others. But the reality is clear: these are weaponized hoaxes with potentially deadly consequences.
Imagine sitting at home with your family, enjoying a quiet evening, when suddenly your front door is kicked in by a SWAT team with rifles drawn. You’re thrown to the ground, handcuffed, and interrogated—all because someone made a false police report claiming you were a threat. If you’re lucky, you survive. But for others, swatting has proven to be deadly.
This isn’t some overblown hypothetical; it’s a terrifying reality that is increasingly weaponized against conservative voices. Swatting—the act of making a hoax 911 call to trigger an armed police response—has become a favored tactic of ideological intimidation. It’s meant to silence, harass, and in some cases, endanger the lives of its targets. Yet, despite its clear potential for fatal consequences, our justice system has been disturbingly slow to treat it with the severity it deserves.
Let’s be clear: swatting is attempted murder—plain and simple. And when it’s done to silence someone for their political beliefs, it is domestic terrorism.
A Clear and Present Danger
Swatting isn’t just a harmless prank gone too far. The FBI and law enforcement agencies have documented multiple cases where innocent people have been injured or killed due to these hoax calls. Officers responding to a supposed armed hostage situation don’t arrive in negotiation mode—they come prepared for lethal force.
Swatting—a dangerous “prank” involving false emergency calls to provoke an armed police response—has increasingly targeted conservative figures in recent years. Notable incidents include:
Marjorie Taylor Greene: The Republican congresswoman from Georgia has been swatted multiple times, including incidents in August 2022 and December 2023.
Rick Scott: The Republican senator from Florida was targeted by a swatting incident on December 27, 2023.
Brandon Williams: The Republican representative from New York experienced a swatting attempt over the holiday week in December 2023.
Dave Yost: Ohio’s Attorney General was among several officials targeted by swatting incidents during the 2023 holiday season.
Ken Paxton: The Texas Attorney General and his wife, State Senator Angela Paxton, were victims of a swatting incident at their home on January 1, 2024.
Nikki Haley: The Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations was swatted twice within days, on December 30, 2023, and January 1, 2024.
Gunther Eagleman: A prominent conservative social media influencer, Eagleman reported being the victim of a swatting incident on March 13, 2025.
These incidents highlight the escalating use of swatting as a tactic to intimidate and endanger conservative figures, underscoring the urgent need for stringent legal measures to deter and punish such actions.
The most infamous case of swatting gone deadly was in 2017, when an innocent man, Andrew Finch, was shot and killed by police in Wichita, Kansas, after an online dispute escalated into a false 911 call. Since then, swatting incidents have continued to rise, and conservatives have become a favorite target. Journalists, content creators, political commentators, and even sitting U.S. representatives have been swatted simply for speaking their minds.
Why? Because the radical left understands that fear is a powerful weapon. They know that a 3 a.m. raid by armed officers could have disastrous consequences, especially in a country already on edge. They know that, even if their target isn’t harmed, the psychological toll is immense. And they know that, so far, our justice system hasn’t caught up to this form of political warfare.
What Can We Do?
1. Prosecute Swatting as Attempted Murder
Every instance of swatting should be treated as attempted murder under the law. The intent is clear: the perpetrator knowingly creates a situation where their target could be shot and killed. This is not a prank—it’s a calculated effort to put someone’s life at risk. The legal system must reflect the gravity of this crime with severe penalties, including long-term prison sentences.
2. Classify Ideologically Motivated Swatting as Domestic Terrorism
If swatting is used to intimidate or silence individuals based on their political beliefs, it should be prosecuted as domestic terrorism. The Department of Justice has aggressively pursued cases against individuals and groups for so-called “threats to democracy,” yet when conservatives are targeted, the response is muted at best. Equal protection under the law means equal enforcement of the law.
3. Strengthen Caller ID and Anti-Spoofing Laws
Most swatting calls are made using spoofed numbers, masking the caller’s true identity. There must be stricter regulations and technology implemented to prevent the use of anonymous numbers to contact emergency services. Law enforcement should also have faster methods to trace these calls back to their origin.
4. Increase Awareness and Rapid Law Enforcement Response
Law enforcement agencies need to be better trained to recognize swatting incidents and have protocols in place to verify threats before sending in an armed team. More states should implement “Swatting Alerts” in their dispatch systems to prevent unnecessary force. If public figures are being targeted, authorities should already have their names flagged for verification before engaging in full-scale raids.
5. Expose the Hypocrisy in Media Silence
The mainstream media’s selective outrage on this issue is stunning. If high-profile leftist figures were being swatted, CNN and The New York Times would be running 24/7 coverage calling it an “existential threat to democracy.” Instead, because the victims are overwhelmingly conservative, it’s treated as a non-issue. We must demand consistent coverage and hold media outlets accountable for their bias.
Enough is Enough
The left likes to talk about “political violence” when it serves their narrative, yet they turn a blind eye when it’s conservatives in the crosshairs. Swatting isn’t just harassment—it’s an assassination attempt by proxy. It’s time we stop treating it as an unfortunate prank and start treating it as the deadly crime it is.
This cannot continue. We must demand accountability, demand real consequences, and most importantly, demand that the law protects all Americans equally—no matter their political beliefs.
Isaiah 54:17 – “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord.
